see Keith we are all learning from the discussion that i started about springs.this is good.by the way the spring im talking about is in pa.i am going to test that water at my own cost and i will let u guys know what i find i also have a spring on my own land the i will keep an eye on that the stray cattle drink from.thats another issue what do u do about stray cattle grazing on your land BILL A.
Bill A,
If the water has been tested bad, what are you testing for? Or are you talking about a different spring now?
If this is a new spring on your place that is going to be drilled, then by all means go ahead and get it tested. You have to have a test done BEFORE drilling starts in order to fully understand changes that happen during drilling (IF ANY). A test done after drilling starts does nothing as you do not have a baseline to compare it to.
As far as stray cattle, in Ohio, I would call the county sheriff. he would make the other party fix their fence.
I had a couple of stray alpaca up here. They could not get them back in the fense. The coyotes took care of them this spring. Very sad!

Keith,
I too have land in Columbiana County and got the questionnaire they sent out. There is no well or spring on the property but there is a small stream. The testing company called a few months ago and said they are not testing streams, only water used in households. Seems they wanted to be sure nothing was being consumed.
Ronda,
The testing company started down that same path with me. In my case the source of the stream was directly under the proposed well site. I insisted that they test the stream. The testing company went back to CHK and they said to test it. The tests all came back great on this property!
So I did have to push them to test the stream. As the property owner of the well site, I did have a little more "push" to make them do as I wished.
Keith
a well known testing lab said not to drink the water FANG
i just added a discussion FRANK.thats what this site is all about isnt it you guys seem to miss the point thats all i am chilled thanks for the advise BILL
William, Only you can straighten out this "post" you started. It is easy to do. Just give the facts that back up your statements. Until you give facts, nobody is going to believe you, and why should we.
Facts william facts, that is what we want. Not more BS.
Thanks and have a nice day.
Guess the first question to ask is have those springs ever been tested prior to the o&g mandated test? There have been a lot of residential water wells that hadn't been tested in years that were found to be bad during pre-drilling tests.
Fang and Frank,
Also like how when asked for details, they never respond.
Like the anti's that were asked at the congressional hearings, they can not come up with any proof that will stand up to the light of the day.
Keith
Fang and Frank,
Fang has stated the case well. This discussion was interesting.
I wish William would come forward with some info. I want this site to be an open place to discuss the good and the bad about drilling etc. Most of all I want it to be about the TRUTH.
William if you can please give us some details. It would really help us to understand what happened here. I can make some assumptions but that could get me in trouble, so I will not.
So William it is up to you!
Where is this located?
Was a test done before?
What does the after test say?
What makes you think drilling was the cause?
Help is here if you want it. We want to hear the facts.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
