Thanks - very helpful.  Anyone have thoughts on reading this release and figuring out what Halcon may or may not do to move NW in the county.  Everything still seems to be East and Southeast.

Typical Halcon "update".  They told us nothing new and in fact didn't even disclose IPs or sales line flow rates.  That's not a great sign.  My guess is that these wells were gassier than they had hoped and they're putting off that news as long as they can.

Marcus Grayson, perhaps you could explain to us how or why Halcon could give accurate or useful IP or sales flow rate on the Phillips well when they admit that the well needs “installation of gas lift” or on Allam 1-H and Brugler 1-H wells which are both “shut-in awaiting infrastructure”?  And for that matter how can you expect IP rates on the Yoder, Kibler, Staab, Pilgrim or Davidson wells when testing hasn’t even started.  Seems that your statement that “these wells [which implies all 8 wells] are gassier than they hoped and they are putting off that news as long as they can” is a stretch, to say the least.  Nevertheless, I’m interested to hear what you have to say because you are someone who obviously knows a great deal about oil and gas wells.

Not since last week I'm not.  Covered when they made their Phillips and Allam announcements (and the stock cratered).  I'm long HK @5.32.  This is a trader's market.

And as far as gleaning useful information from IP numbers I'm wondering just when any of you people (landowners in general) cared about such things being accurate.  If I told you that IPs didn't matter (which I've said before) then I'm in industry shill looking to take your minerals cheap (which I'm not).  But now, when IP stinks and there's some real concern about Halcon's transparency, everyone thinks that the oil company is downplaying expectations.  There's an incongruity in this thinking.  Either you trust these companies at their word or you don't.  You cannot selectively believe what they say based on how good it makes you feel.  The reality is that if HK had hit a gold mine they'd be rubbing it in everyone's face because that's the sort of mentality that their company has.  Frankly I think this is a group of ignorant, rude, petulant children who treat landowners like crap and are just barely this side of ethical in most of their dealings.  That said I think they'll likely have some measure of success in parts of their acreage.  But they'll need price support for the gassier areas (which is most of their stuff) and they'll need infrastructure, some of which they're building out themselves.
