If you see any new unrecognized companies, go to Yahoo's financial website and determine whether they are listed on NY stock exchange. If they are, then you can plug in the stock's ticker symbol and find out a lot of information about how big and how sound the company is, and whether they have drilled wells anyplace, and whether they have the capacity to drill additional wells. You assuredly DO NOT want to lease to a company like DUX Petroleum. There are two threads on this website dealing with DUX and none of the information about this "company" is favorable. Be very wary of companies that you have never heard of.

LOL.  There are two Dux's carp.  One is Dux Petroleum, a paper company set up to scam and separate landowners from their money in Washington County, Ohio that Samuel was referring to .  A flipper with no assets who bet on arranging a lease deal with a major that fell through, led by an attorney, John Wells, who apparently had a solid reputation prior to this scam.  The other Dux(the one I think you're referrring to)is an egocentric, narcissistic, know it all blowhard poster who believes he's God's gift to land owners looking to be leased.  He has all the answers and obviously plenty of time on his hands to troll this site.  Ignore his posts like carp said.  He's a bitter, bored buffoon and his posts are inane, and even that is being polite.

Speaking of buffoons, let's discuss the other major detraction from this site: GG.  GG is, from what I can tell, on the land owners side as well, unfortunately, he's a Joyce wannabe and his writing style and never ending posts makes you want to stick white-hot crochet needles in your eyes.  I ignore and hit the back button as soon as I see his "GG" at the head of a post.  He's maddenly annoying also, but unfortunately for the rest of us, seems impervious to insult or removal by our absentee moderator.  Most other sites I belong to would toss these idiots out like they were rotting meat.  I'm beside myself over this.  Keith Mauck, by most estimations is an intelligent, honorable man, so I'm at wits end to understand why they're still allowed here to post their drivel.
