Does anyone think they will ever drill? Seems like they've been going to start for the last 2 years......wondering if they are just going to be a huge flipper?

Permalink Reply by Dott on July 17, 2013 at 4:40am Paul...I see your concern now. Sierra only has the 2 permits so far in Mill and 1 in Sugarcreek. If they are taking it slow for the one in Mill then who knows how long for others. And nothing is for certain, they may not drill in Mill as planned either if things don't look good. I also think they are waiting for infrastructure (mid stream) which from what I've read is being put in around the area in question.

Permalink Reply by Paul Martinelli on July 17, 2013 at 6:13am I don't think much is going to happen in Tusc. until gathering pipelines (infrastructure) is in place.
That coupled with the need for more information on best technology/process to use to extract the more "oily" products out of the ground in this area.
I think we are looking at 2105 before it takes off in Tusc.
Permalink Reply by Frank on July 17, 2013 at 9:02am Paul, I hope you mean 2015 because I won't be around in 2105. Might be a year or two later. Dott, I kinda got the feeling from him that they were waiting for someone bigger than them to crack the problem of getting the light oil out.
Permalink Reply by Paul Martinelli on July 17, 2013 at 9:05am Sorry.....2015 is what I meant.
And I think the same......they are waiting for someone else to crack the problem....or buy out their leases.
Permalink Reply by Brent Laner on July 17, 2013 at 9:02am I hope you mean 2015! I just have my doubts about them, they've been involved in the "play" for three years and haven't drilled a single well.

Permalink Reply by al raptoria on July 17, 2013 at 12:41pm I was told by attorney that the big pipelines now being laid in southern tusc county won't even serve our area - they are "just passing through" en route to the Gulf and other places - with no benefit to us (unless you were paid to grant right-of-way for some pipe).

Permalink Reply by al raptoria on July 17, 2013 at 12:52pm Both can be accurate: the locals ARE waiting for infrastructure to be built AND the current pipelines being laid could be, as the attorney said, just for other companies passing through Ohio. The local drillers may be waiting for another generation of pipelines to be laid - hopefully sooner than later!
Permalink Reply by Dott on July 17, 2013 at 4:20pm I am sure this is old news but reading the full story it does say lines will be linked to Tusc. The Blue Racer LIne.

Plant and pipeline projects abound as Ohio moves firmly into the midstream phase |
| A recent article in Farm & Dairy provides a comprehensive overview of plant and pipeline projects planned and underway throughout Ohio and the region. As the prevalence of these projects increases, more landowners are being approached by companies that want them to sign pipeline easements and other agreements. Chris Montgomery and Matt Warnock, oil and gas attorneys at Bricker & Eckler LLP, recently developed a chart highlighting key issues that landowners should consider when negotiating a pipeline right of way agreement. For more, read the full story and chart. |

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
