Anybody know about this ? A ton of names on the mahoning county recorders office as of last week.

CHK Utica Mortgaged  Thousands of their Lease with Deutsche Bank for a $500,000 (yes $1/2 Billion) Loan, there is a very good Post on the Trumbull County GMS Site you might want to take a look at it.

There are as many Lease if not more filed with the Trumbull County Records office, both Mahoning & Trumbull where filed on the same day 9/5/2013.My guess if look at Columbiana & Carroll Records site you will find a ton more name. Deutsche Bank must feel there is something BIG under our feet to put up that kind of money!!  With a $1/2 Billion, maybe CHK with get serious about drill in Mahoning & Trumbull Country!!  This can only be Good News for the area.

A list of leases in Belmont County were also mortgaged as well.

This is very important and yes it reveals behind the scene that there is a tremendous value in the leases that the energy companies invoked locally.  In addition, international money is betting heavy on the Utica in the north.

Ron, you are once again right as rain.  From the very beginning of our shale frenzy, foreign money has been involved ... either through an international company that's acting on its own or through Joint Ventures, etc..  It's the global picture that many have ignored as playing a part in the success of the E & P aspect of  our shale. Groups need to broaden their focus beyond their own back doors, regions, and states.

I hope readers are focusing on the finer points that you bring up.

CHK Utica LLC obtained a mortgage from P. Nathan Bowles Jr, Trustee, and Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas for $500,000,000.00.  They used all of their holdings in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia as collateral for the mortgage.  The filing was done in many counties on 09-05-2013.  The document for Trumbull County Ohio is 174 pages and it is my understanding that you can download it via the Trumbull County Recorder's web site.  Columbiana County Ohio is 509 pages and it does not show up when you search via the web, yet.

It gives Deutsche Bank the right to sell CHK Utica LLC collateral without going through the foreclosure process.

The 509 pages for the Columbiana County Ohio filing of the Mortgage on 09-05-2013 scans into a 33.1 mega byte file.  There is a 7MB limit on the file size you can upload.  The first 50 pages were the bulk document and the rest of the pages were the Exhibits.

There was a filing on 08-02-2013 and another one around 08-23-2013 (not sure of the second date) which are related.  Chesapeake seems to have been moving around what subsidiary owns what percentage just before the mortgage filing.  The Columbiana County Recorder is still working on indexing the filing for 08-02-2013 before they can move on to the 08-23-2013 (again, not sure about that second date) and then onto the filing of the Mortgage on 09-05-2013.

I just checked my name in Stark County Ohio Nimishellen Twp and I too am part of this.  My recorded document shows it to be 534 pages.  I am taking this as good news for northern Ohio too.

Probably so.  See the related discussion, below,  somebody started. It would be great if somebody could get a copy of that drilling schedule and post it for the rest of us.

Does anyone else find it just a little disturbing that CHK had to go outside the US for this loan? Please don't tell me V. Putin is right about American Exceptionalism being a farce.......

silly me! with a name like Deutsche Bank National Trust of the Americas , how could i have possibly made such an error? and to think i thought they could possibly be a German concern........i feel like such a moron!..........;-1
