We've only lived in the area since late 2011 and since then we've never heard anything from the Marcellus companies.  We are only a few miles from 2 pads in Concord township.  Does it do any good for me to contact one of the companies? Edge Marc in particular seems to be busy in the area.

US Energy is drilling two laterals from the pad across from the pizza shop, one is 1512 feet long and the other is 1051 feet long.  I don't think they say how deep they are going.

On another site down past slaters meats and more, they are also planning on drilling two laterals.  one is 2752 feet and the other is 2086 feet long.  its on the hindman property, its not the same property as the chevron well.

Robert as Mr. Perry has it seems pointed out my lack of knowledge of the complete facts, I must apologize to you for my previous statement.  It appears that certain individuals posting on this site have a inside edge to information that has yet to become or been approved as public knowledge from the DEP. That's very interesting indeed.

Sorry Gasman but you are incorrect. Everything Oliver posts is public information. He takes the time to look it up.  Sign up for eNotice w/the DEP and you will be notified every step of the way.

All the permits and plats are public information.

Oily Gasman,

You are a man of honor and I thank you for admitting your mistake. I like to see the posts on this Butler County site be of a friendly nature. After all, the purpose of the site is helping each other by providing factual information.

As FMV noted, I don't have any inside information. When well permits are applied for with the DEP the plats are available to the general public. I get them if I'm interested in those specific wells or if someone on this site asks me for specific plats of interest to them, I get them from the DEP office in Meadville. They are available from any DEP office.

The permit reports are available at this site:http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt/community/oil_and_ga...

I always recommend people sign up to the e-notice site run by the DEP. They send you an email every time a permit is applied for or issued for any county or township you specify when you sign up. It is a free service provided by the DEP, here is the link:

Wow!  I just saw your post and am amazed that you're marketing on your own.  Even with a lawyer's advice it's your bit of acreage vs what a group's total AC offering ... his expertise vs Shell's bank of lawyers.  Doing the best he can this is still a David vs Goliath story, and he's not David.

I am in a Group northeast of you that is being well-educated, marketed and negotiated by CX-Energy ... striving for client-friendly leases.  IF they are working with folks in your area, sit in on a meeting and see what they offer.  Your OGMs won't disappear if you don't sign right away.

Good luck!
