We have been contacted to allow a temporary fresh water line to cross our property.  The line will go from a fresh water pond to the well sight.  The pon is not on our property.  The water line is temporary and will be used for one month.  The lease will be in affect for two years so they can come back and use it again if needed.  The offer is for $3 a foot and the line will cross 700 feet of our property.  The line is 8" in diameter. Does this sound reasonable?  Thank you in advance.

Are they using the hard pipe or the flat fire hose type of pipe? We just signed a 2 year lease. If they use the hard plastic, they pay $6.88 a foot, because there is more involved and the likely hood of more surface disturbance as they have to weld together 20 foot lengths. If they use the flat fire hose they only pay $4 a foot. There is less disturbance with this type of pipe. They just roll it out in large lengths.

They are to take it up when they are finished, If it takes more than 9 months, they have to pay us again. We get paid each time they lay the pipe, so if they come back in 6 months and lay it, they pay us again.

Are you in Pa or Ohio?

I am in Ohio and it is flat fire hose.  I was told to take it or leave and we could not negotiate any of the terms.  I want to move the process along but I also want to be paid for the use of my land.   I appreciate your response.

Are u in guernsey county ..

Carrol County

EQT came calling a few weeks ago, offered $1.00 per foot. He would not move off that price, saying he had leases with all land owners except my neighbor and myself. Needless to say both my neighbor and myself told them no thanks. That offer was insulting. Also it was a two year lease for an 8 inch plastic line. Guernsey, Center TWP.
