RICE ENERGY BEGINS LEASE BONUS PAYMENTS TO SMITH-GOSHEN LANDOWNERS GROUP

FIVE DAYS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE, The Rice Energy Company of Cannonsburg, Pa  paid out 100 million in lease bonus payments tonight at Ohio University Eastern Gymnasium  to SG members. Over the next four days, SG members who's land has cleared title can expect calls from the company as to when and where they can pick up their checks. SG MEMBERS, PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE RICE OFFICE, they will call you if your payment is ready.

CONGRATS to all Rice Employees, the SG Committee,  and most importantly the SG community for making this a reality!.

Those were the first 4 days that I was aware of, obviously they are going to need more days to get this huge undertaking of getting payments out on time.  If i find out more I will post. And no I'm not associated with Rice, but I am associated with the committee. My job was to sent out the mass emailing to SG members.

Congratulations on your lease, folks!

May I ask for clarification? Is your lease for 6250/acre and what is the royalty % and is it net or gross?

Any new info about this??

We're cashing our checks

Great!

I was just approached about joining a central Monroe county group.  Is there anyone in the Smith-Goshen group who is not afraid to talk turkey about the deal.  The group that contacted me said there is no other offer like the one they are offering me.  Sounds too car salish to be true.

Anyone who has had title or signing problems, what are you doing? Has Rice inDicated when these need to be resolved? Thank you

Hi Fun.  We have acres in Belmont and Harrison that Rice leased.  They paid us for the Belmont acres, but they found an old 50 yr lease on the Harrison acres.  We contacted a lawyer in Cadiz; he found a partial release-of-lease that should clear our minerals.  We send that info on to Rice mid-May and have heard nothing from Rice since (we sent an email 2 weeks ago - no response).  We have no idea when/if Rice will get back to us.  The lease or order-of-payment specified 120 business days to resolve title issues.  Not sure when that clock started but it must be ticking away.  We do know they contract out the title searching and don't have direct control over how fast it may go.  That's what we did & all we know.

Thank you. Could you friend me and let me know what attorney you used. Thank you again
we are in a similar situation and would like to ask for names of gas and oil attys that can be recommended. I have friended a few people on here in hopes that I can pm with those who have experience and can advise. thanks!

Has anyone been approached or heard from Rice Energy pertaining to drilling in Belmont county?

Anyone hear if Rice is still behind (30-45 days) on bonus payments to landowners that had curative issues with deeds?  Hoping this isn't the sign of a problem...
