A bunch of markings have been popping up from Lisbon- dungannon through Steubenville pike rd., for months now. I've yet to catch anyone doing it.
This started with blue and green ribbons tied together, on the top and bottom of wayne bridge with a set at the park gate. I've never seen these anywhere else.
Since then there is now a lot of pink ribbons tied to trees and directly behind these ribbons, the trees are sprayed orange. Double marking IMO
The furthest I've found them is on Lisbon dungannon before the Andrullis off rt 30. they go up the hill on Wayne bridge but stop 1/2 mile after the park.
On rt 164 they start by Applegate (go down each side of Applegate) and stop on 518 way before trinity church. They do not continue on 164 at the curve.
I also found them on Steubenville pike off 518 heading I guess north. Not in the other direction on stubemville pike heading towards highland town.
They are not on Mcallister or crosser rd. I can make a case they start by crosser farms on rt 30, but they look a little different there.
I'm not sure if this is related but there is also some green ribbons on 164 running next to or near the pink ribbons and orange paint. Same ribbons are on rt 30 starting near freeman all the way down 164. They do not go as far up 164 or 518 where the pink ribbons and painted trees stop.
I do not believe these are pipeline markings.
On a side note; there is activity at the Andrullis and crosser wells. Both gates are wide open. A new huge purple tank with yellow round things on top, in one corner, is on the pad. I saw a pick up driving up the crosser pad with what looked like a satalite or something today.
On trinity where they are running pipe looks almost finished. The pipe is all in and they were picking up the large equipment, leaving the smaller equipment.
So, any ideas what all these pink ribbons with orange paint on the tress right behind them could mean? In a few spots, not many, a few have orange ribbons with the painted tress right behind them.

Hi,

Some of these markings are on my trees and I know they can't just put any pipelines on me without me knowing it.
Can't imagine why they would come up Wayne bridge for those wells.
If I only saw this on 164 then I would think pipes.
Next time you're around follow these markings. Some try to hide but if you keep looking you'll see them.

Someone thought maybe telephone poles, but I know they are not putting that many on Wayne bridge.
Its just odd. The blue and green ribbons sat for months, then the markings started on waynebridge and only Wayne bridge so I thought it was related.
These things have been popping up since at least the beginning of the year.
Out of say 50 I see two tress with orange X's and a pink flag in front of them by Applegate, but all the other marked trees are sprayed in a circle pattern. I'm curious now if black rd has them.
I looked on a map and this is running as if they are putting two pads in. But then I think its too long, since a pad on or by Applegate couldn't catch the bottom of Lisbon dungannon and freeman, I think anyway.
They were supposed to put a pad by stubenville called the Pastore. I know people that got water tested for it years ago.
So one off 518 by stubenville and one by Applegate?
This looks nothing like what they did for the millport pipeline survey.
I agree. Ice only seen that on two little trees.
More just orange ribbons are showing up on Wayne bridge.
I swear these people work in the middle of the night, since I never see them.
Regardless, nobody should be on your property, and most definitely should not be marking trees, without written consent.

Isn't there also a well pad planned for black road down towards where it intersects w/518? So maybe running down black road, McCormick Run Road and over 518 to the Rosebud pipeline - based on a (long ago) conversation with a land owner near Rosebud, they're using an existing pipe ROW and putting in a new pipe for Rosebud pad along that ridge line running parallel to 518. That pipe comes (will come?) down to McCormick Run Road on that side of 518.

On SR164 at the top of the hill just before the Wayne Township Garage on the east side of the road in December 2012 there was a Survey Crew from PA doing survey work for a pad. At least that is what they said when I spoke with them.  They said they were just hired to do the survey work but didn't know when the pad was going to show up.

Also, Ohio Edison has been working on running 3-phase 480 volt power down SR164.  The work has been going on for at least the last six (6) months.  I ask men on the Edison Crew how far down SR164 they were going to run the lines.  They said their work order indicated that they were to install poles and run power lines stopping at about the top of the hill, on the west side of the road where the Survey Crew had been.

They use 3-phase 480 volts to run equipment on the pads when it is available.

If you get the pipe line to the Andrullis Pad, extending it over to SR164, the path could possibly cross Wayne Bridge.

Sunland Construction has been out this past week installing pipeline across SR518 in Franklin Twp.

An area of PA was heavily marked with pink flagging. In the end, they ran a set of pounder trucks through and tested at each ribbon. These ribbons were really noticeable and close to each other (maybe 50-100 feet apart). But, the company in PA didn't paint/mark any trees and didn't use any color other than pink for flagging.

Also, there's a water project that had been putting in pipes for public water/sewer. They may be working their way up to meet up with what was installed on the West Point end of 518?

US,

Whenever you take a ride out around here, please remember, I'm not talking about the little orange flags running down 164.
I'm sure they are showing utilities. And I'm thinking the light green ribbons mean something else too. They are running down 30 and 164.
This is driving me so crazy, I may call Wayne and center township trustees.
I heard a road is going in a little past Steubenville pike rd. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I'm going to drive past that tomorrow. The neighbors all think its a pad rd but not on wooley or Pastore land.

I am seeing a lot of stakes with orange and pink ribbons along Trinity Church Road as you come off of Route 30. Wondering what those are for as well.

Hi. I am a leased land owner in the Marcellus Shale. No well pads are anywhere in our group of acres but negotiations are in progress to run transmission lines on some our properties. A geologist came to or property this week and placed flags here on a stick. One flag was green and one white. The stick had a circle on it with two squiggly lines coming out of the bottom of the circle. Does anyone know what the flags colors and the drawing on the stick signify?
