Hello:  Here I am again trying to find someone who has leased or looking for an oil company to lease with.  I do not understand why the gorund around me is leased and no one wants the few of us that were left out or had our original leases (Shell) cancelled.  I went to a meeting at  Salt Fork with a group that we were to pay them 6% of our signing bonus.  That group was to have something settled by April.  Does anyone know if that has happened.  I did not sign with them. Thanks

Donna, please be more explicit as to where you're located.  Groups can do wonders for folks IF they're professional and experienced in marketing and negotiating, and have a large pool of contacts.  However they can't control the impact of global happpenings on local matters.  Deals that happen quickly can turn sour just as quickly.  Don't  get antsy.  You haven't missed the boat yet.

I am in Center Township, Guernsey County Ohio.  Guess I am tired of being patient which is  what everybody tells me to do.  I am 88 and going on 89 and feel I may not outlast this.  Thanks for your reply.

How many acres do you have, Donna?

I have 9 acres in Center Township, Guernsey County, Ohio

Donna, are your neighbors leased with anyone?

Some were leased with Shell ( got paid)  which was purchased by American Energy Partners, LLC and two were  leased with Shell like me had their lease cancelled. One was not leased with anyone.  I hope this answers your question.  I know of someone else that leased with 3 different companies and had all of them cancelled.

Have you tried contacting American Energy Partners?

One of the others did and were advised that  they were not this far west yet.  Also I noticed on the forum that some of those signed with AEP do know what is going on, (such as what their plans are according to drilling.)

Have you had any offers to buy your mineral rights?

No and I don"t want any because I am not interested in selling my mineral rights.

I think Rice is leasing again....try giving them a call,. They are the oil and gas company that is drilling the Daddy Ghurgert well by Old Washington...so they are in the area.

Google Rice Energy and that should give you contact info you need! Same with American Energy Partners.  They both come right up first listing. They both have contact information.  They both have email contact so you can send in your location, acreage, parcel # from your tax bill, contact info. Tell them you are interested in leasing and ask if they are leasing in your area at this time. They have leases all computerized and someone there can look up in two seconds if you acres are contiguous with other acres they have leased.  You can not lease to Shell say if Chesapeake has all the land around it because Shell will just have to sell it or trade it to Chesapeake ... just an example.  Chesapeake has an office in Canton, Ohio.  You can contact them by email too.  When our road was bad we sent out an email and within a half hour I had a call that we were on the list to be patched up this week and chipped and sealed by the end of the month.  Good Luck!  I would send an email inquiry to every company who has leased in your area.  It's free and takes only a few minutes and you never know someone might get back to you!
