If you live in Trumbull County, Ohio you may have received offers to buy your mineral rights. Those offers have probably been quite low.

Buy low, sell high; Strike while the iron is hot etc. The folks behind these offers are attempting to take advantage of the disappointment of land owners in Trumbull County. Disappointment by the recent actions of BP and Halcon. They see an opportunity to buy mineral rights on the cheap and sell them later for extreme profits when the value of those mineral rights rise.

If someone is willing to buy your mineral rights then it must mean that they see future development coming. My suggestion is that landowners remain calm and exercise a little patience. Development will come.

Just as signing a bad lease will leave your heirs to deal with the related problems, so too will selling your rights on the cheap.

So , you may not be able to realize the benefits of development of your oil and gas rights. With improvements to drilling and completion techniques perhaps a son, daughter, grandchild etc will realize the benefits of a wise decision not to sell now.

Then if wells were unmitagated disasters, why did Dominion spend a ton of money to put a 4" pipeline from the lennington well??

I believe 4" lines were run not only from Lennington, but also the Dunbar, Jewitt, Zerovitch , Buckeye and Morrison well sites.  Are they all to be plugged now?  Anyone know for sure?

If they were not sure if the resource was there then I would entertain the idea. That is not the case. It appears that the pressure is the issue. The will figure it out. Don't sell
I think it's already figured out.
I think this is management of the 'play' / applied marketing / financial tactics.
All as always only IMHO.

From what has been posted on other threads and their activities in nearby pa. counties, it appears that Hilcorp has "figured" something out.

That would be great.
Hope it's all fact and that they buy in to our geography / resources offering all a fair deal.
IMHO,I believe in the low hanging fruit theory, also they can't do much of anything without the proper infrastructure period. As secretive as these oil companies are,how do we know the wells aren't BETTER than expected!!! I guess we have to wait and see what they let the bp lease holds sell for.
I'm on your bus John.

there are so many well in eastern lawrence county just east of new castle, that you cant count them on two hands, and they are all within a few miles. i would say they did crack the code.

MJ and Pat,  In PA. where Hilcorp is drilling these wells the Utica formation is much deeper than Trumbull county and in the so called wet gas zone.

It all has value, wet gas,dry gas,and oil,its there they just have to go get it when its time. All these wells in pa and Ohio that were drilled into the Clinton had to have a source and i believe its from deeper rock formations.
