I wish Keith would take away the ability here in the Beaver County area to post a new discussion in the general area. Twice I've posted to the wrong place.... maybe it is just me.
Anyhow, here is the post incase you don't check out the general forum.
I just noticed this on the DEP site, maybe I've been missing it all along or it is new. If you haven't been there it is worth looking at for the giggles of it. Utica is listed the most, but others surprised me a bit.
Going here: http://www.depreportingservices.state.pa.us/ReportServer/Pages/Repo...
will let you select criteria for viewing the target formations of all wells reported, even those not drilled it appears. I don't know if the list is complete, but it appears that way.
The list of target formations so far in Beaver County reads like this: Utica, Marcellus, Trenton Limestone, Rhinestreet, Onondaga, and last but not least Point Pleasant.
Very interesting! I knew they had a few formations to explore/produce and this solidifies the thought.
Now if we only knew what they think is down there in those other formations we would be golden : )

$2825 per acre SOLD! I am interested to see if it is sold again in the very near future. They must have sold to the first buyer that came along - most likely solicited. There are mineral brokers that work with attorneys or are attorneys in the area who are selling mineral rights at around $9 to $10,000 per acre last time I checked in the spring.
Who bought it by the way? Was is a mineral "company"?
appalachian energy corporation and merrion oil and gas corporation . the first company out of pittsburgh the second from new mexico - I know it is drilled and in a unit because my friend was interested in the property about a half a year ago - he changed his mind when he found out they were selling the oil and gas rights separate - With all the respect to the seller he is older and in failing health . Still I think he got took -
I'm sure the money will be put to good use. It could have been much worse and has been for several people. At least he still owns the surface. But he certainly could have gotten 3 to 4 times that amount.
I remember a few years ago when a mineral buyer sent me a letter to buy my minerals for $1000 per acre... Hancock County next to SW Hanover TWP, BC.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
