At the supervisors meeting on 11/19/14 a new ordinance was approved that will greatly curtail or eliminate the possibility of drilling in Wilmington Township.  I would be interested in hearing how other landowners in Wilmington Township feel about this new development.  The ordinance was approved by two supervisors.  The third supervisor recused himself from voting since he has already leased his land to either Chevron or Hilcorp.

How would this affect the permits hillcorp already applied for, I know there is one behind Westminster.

Sad. Any Cuomo's living there.....?
Welcome to the world of the academic elitists who think they know what is best for everyone else!

Can someone post this ordinance here with the same wording that was voted in?

I will try to get a copy of the ordinance and post it.

All laws will be tested.

The only thing that will

'greatly curtail or eliminate the possibility of drilling in Wilmington Township'

                                                         is bad geology.

It appears that sufficient  hydrocarbons are not present.

There are alot of shallow wells in that township and can't be leased fwiw.    I have 15 ac. and they wouldn't lease it b/c of the shallow well next to my property. they said there were a lot of them there, this was in 2012

If PA works at all like Ohio then local law will be trumped by state law.  The elitists of Hudson, OH tried to stop clinton wells from being drilled in their twp but found out that no matter how many trust fund babies you have / square mile you cannot stop the drilling.

It's not.

Sorry to hear that.  I know the Youngstown news has had a hay day with these Wilmington or Pulaski twp meetings and all the shenanigans that go on with them.

When do the terms of the current supervisors end?  How soon can they be voted out?
