Another year is upon us and we are all starving for information pertaining to the "gas biz" in our county.

Hilcorp appears to be poised for an extremely busy year.

Shell seems to be dragging it's feet for some reason , even though the Cracker appears likely to become a reality.

Hopefully more infrastructure projects will become known as the year unfolds.

Please share any news with us you may uncover over the course of the year.

Good luck to us all and may 2014 be the year that puts us on the map!

sorry i havent heard anything on that. all i know is they have all kind of equipment `ready to do something.

Trapper, i heard from a landman that is working in Butler county getting ROW's, that his company is also working on a pipeline project in Beaver County.  He said they are getting ROW's from TGP to the old power plant that used to burn Coal, which will be switch to Nat gas. I hope that helps.

Thanks Geo & pat.
I wonder if this will branch off from that substation on Smalls Ferry Road between Rt 551 and Bessemer? I believe that is part of Tennessee Gas Pipeline. Glad to hear there is activity pertaining to the coal to gas refit at the old Penn Power plant in West Pittsburg.
I wonder if the old Powder Mill site power plant plan has been abandoned?

i remember back in 07 or so they were talking about dismantling the power plant in west pittsburg, then the natural gas was coming around so they decided to change it over.

I believe you're right. Glad they decided to convert to gas! Should be a pretty big user and help to add to the drilling I hope. Can't hurt, that's for sure.

i wonder if our electric bill is going to go down with all their saving. all the coal, off loading it, then loading it in the furnace. plus cleaner burning equals less maintenance too. plus all that labor there. north folk southern also has to be upset no more rail cars going into west pittsburg.

At last some news for Southern Lawrence.

Update on pipeline construction:  there  is a 10 or 12 inch pipe line running from the Yeo well on Mcbride headed due south on quarry road past the quarry s,where would this line be going ? to New Middletown under the river?

If it's black it's probably the water line bringing river water from near the state line for fracking. The gas gathering line runs east picking up more product at Ambrosia's & then Siegel's before joining the main line to New Middletown near Tony's bar on Rt 224.

Just got a letter today from a broker called CX Energy. They are out of Bridgeville,PA.
They claim to have buyers wishing to purchase mineral rights in Lawrence County. Based on numerous past posts on GMS , this could be a sign things are going to pick up in our area. Wishful thinking? Anyone else care to comment on this?

Receive my letter from CX Energy today. These guys and the lawyers listed in the letter are the people who had the Mt.Jackson landowner group and did the original lease with Hilcorp. I was a member of the Mt.Jackson landowners. By all indications things will start to pick up this summer.

Sounds good James. I keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for the info.
