It has been a month today since we have had a post on the Trumbull County site. Hard to think that nothing of interest has occurred!! We all are waiting for information so lets share what we know.
Also a Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Permalink Reply by Sage59 on December 7, 2014 at 5:46pm That's ok MJ. Whispers on the wind are all we have right now. Now -- If that did come to pass, and the name Gasfrac was stenciled on the doors of the trucks -- Good Golly Miss Molly! I realize that is really stretching, but who knows? The weather is cold and the grass won't need to be mowed for a few months, so there is plenty of time to speculate. Maybe Snort's whispering about his "garage sale" theory will seem more like breaking wind in time.

Permalink Reply by Sage59 on January 3, 2015 at 12:01pm Hi all. Happy belated New Year. It's easy to state the obvious -- it seems that patience remains the name of the game. Here is an article that some may not have caught recently. It seems that the industry is working hard to unlock the northern utica shale, and improve on old techniques.
Here is a quote from the article -- "Producers are particularly intent on cracking a very stubborn oil-rich area of the Utica shale in Ohio that has resulted in poorly performing wells. Deep in the shale, water can sometimes cause rock and clay to hold onto gas instead of release it."

I pass the Buckeye Well now and then, and I haven't noticed any equipment being removed. Maybe Snort just had a bad day when he said it was a BP equipment fire sale when the three wells were sold to Halcon and Enervest. Maybe BP and its old dogs should be watching out for new tricks as they are developed. Maybe BP gave up too soon. (Any whispers from the woods MJ? :)
Permalink Reply by Robert Bond on January 3, 2015 at 1:19pm The article is a good read and it makes sense. It sounds as if the technology to handle the geology in the northern Utica is progressing. Lets hope that these new processes are successful and that this part of the state becomes attractive for drilling in the near future.

Permalink Reply by tomvargo706 on January 30, 2015 at 7:08am Off Topic: I have 20 acres for land for sale in Mecca Twp West/with mineral rights for 59K (steel barn, good well, bad septic, old mobile home, old farmland, heavy brush, could be cleared with bulldozer for farming) firm price/leased to BP. Need fast closing. Anyone interested? Contact me in my inbox. Thanks guys!
Permalink Reply by Robert Bond on January 30, 2015 at 7:14am Keep us informed, I know things may get even slower but this will cycle, and oil prices and gas prices will go back up. With this world market place prices move in wide gyrations.
From what I hear Halcon is still keeping wells operating but not doing much around here.
Permalink Reply by Sage59 on January 31, 2015 at 3:07am I agree gents. "Very quiet in the woods lately", and "things may get even slower but this will cycle". Like the certainties of death and taxes, the temps will rise in a few short weeks, and oil prices will also rise eventually. This april will begin the two year countdown on the ALOV leases. It will be interesting to see how it all converges. In the meantime, I giggle each time I fill my van up at the pump. Also, constant tire tracks in the snow in and out of the Buckeye well. Guessing maintenance people.
Permalink Reply by Robert Bond on February 16, 2015 at 3:40am Yes it has been quiet recently.
See Halcon stock has been floating up and down and seems to be off the lows at the moment.
The Kibler well is still flaring and is some times a larger flare than what is the usual, don't know what that means.
Let's keep each other informed. Thanks!!!

Permalink Reply by Robert Bond on February 16, 2015 at 7:19am I drive by the Kibler wells most every day and they generally have a small flare. Several times in the last few weeks it has been quite large appears to be maybe 15 feet or so tall flame and much bigger diameter than usual.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
