There is a Wolf prowling PA, seeking to steal the royalties of in-the-shale PA landowners.  This Wolf claims he wants our money for "education".  In reality he wants to give the money to the teachers' unions which so vigorously and eagerly supported his recent election.

Some in-the-shale PA landowners might not be familiar with Caln, PA.  Caln is not in the shale.  Caln is not close to the PA shale.  But Caln is where Wolf went yesterday to kick off his efforts to steal our royalty money.  Caln is in distant Chester County, in SEPA.  There is not much shale there, so they want to take whatever of ours they can by any means at their disposal.  Wolf is their can opener.

At one point in his diatribe yesterday, Wolf stated the only alternative to his 5% severance tax was to close down drilling.  He specifically mentioned New York as his example.  While Wolf recanted nearly immediately, in-the-shale PA landowners have to wonder whether his utterance was an innocent slip of the tongue or, instead, a Freudian slip!  Either way it was worrying and intimidating.  Given his base of insane supporters, it would be easy enough for Wolf to adopt a "my way or the highway" approach to drilling.  Perhaps what he said was a reminder of this.

Obviously I've written a lot here with no substantiation so far.  So let's get down to that.  Here is the passage, and I quote:

"Wolf said he has not discussed any deals with lawmakers. “The alternative is not really no tax. It's no drilling, a ban, as in the case of New York,” Wolf said, later emphasizing that was not a threat."

You will find that passage here.  All you have to do is click:

Wolf on the prowl for our money

This entire Wolf enterprise is wrong.  He is doing the customary Democrat "redistribution of wealth" thing, following the lead of his hero, Barack Obama.  This Wolf needs desperately to be brought to heel by the PA Legislature.  He is totally out of control!!!

Couple more thoughts on this:

First, Wolf is saying he wants protection in his new law for royalty owners, such that only the gas companies will pay the severance tax.  This would mean the gas companies would be paying severance tax on your gas for you.  It would also mean Wolf thinks he can invalidate pre-existing contracts (leases) between Lessors and Lessees which might call for a sharing of ad valorem taxes.  Wolf should know, or his advisers should know, such a thing is against the law.

Second, Wolf gives no credit whatsoever to all of us PA in-the-shale landowners for providing, from our lands and at extraordinarily low cost, natural gas to warm the homes and workplaces of millions of the city and suburban Pennsylvanians who voted him into office.  Last I checked, despite remarkable cold weather so far this winter, our gas price has remained anchored well south of $3.00.  Guys, that's CHEAP!!  And it has to be a great help to everyone who needs our natural gas.  It's also another transfer of wealth from us to them.

Remember, we are the ones keeping Pennsylvania warm, not Wolf's phantasmagorical, fanciful, and wholly non-existent "global warming", a fraud and ruse in which he nevertheless believes wholeheartedly.  Still, and regardless, he wants us to chip in with yet another 5% for his city people!!

Amen Brother! Washington and Harrisburg need to stay out of our buisness!!! And All politians need to take a big cut in pay and give it to the Veterans!!!
