A few years ago I had a 8 inch pipe on my property line of about 200 feet after a neighbor balked at having it on his property. It was only there about 6 months and they paid me something like $4500 in all. I was nice to the guys when they picked up the line and let them use my field for half a day to cut up the pipe and load it. In this case the pipe was on top of the ground and there was literally no problem with it.
However, I would not allow this easement with out using a lawyer. Doug Clarke who practices near Scranton, PA did mine for a couple of hundred dollars and it is crucial. It establishes that you are getting paid for a single line of a certain size and that there is a time limit for how long the pipe is there. The company's contract will have neither of those things. Damages and things like that are important too.
Even if you are not from northeast PA, give Doug Clarke a call before you sign anything.
