Are We Winning or Losing the PR War for Marcellus Shale Development

The industry, heck my home area was in WSJ 30 times in 2010.  thats once per week (ish).  I think that a pro gas artical in the papers read by my enemies will realy make me smile.

 Seaking Alpha is a stock site.  not to many of those youths holding tickeet stubs to gasland are looking to Wallstreet for guidence.

 

THis same msg was on many stock related shows in the last 3 years and we are still have'n this talk.

You hit that one on the nailhead Keith It would be nice if the rest of the country could Do the Math. I believe to this day what my grandmother told me 44 years ago. TV will be the dumming down of the country. And it was. Too bad the industry couldnt take local media and provide more info and info contest. Why does mommy& daddy provide heat for the house & ride me around when I aint playing video games or watching the leftist guerillas destroy America! The industries could offer up a new computer for the winner of the contest. Bob Barker couldnt give em away free. But he got the attn of millions! The librarys are full of people wanting to use the comps. PR without spending is a dying market. Word of mouth is the new solution. Bartering.

OK, First off,  Big energy dosen't really have a lot to do with ads.  Range has somthing going, the rest are really just logos on billboards.   They will pay money towards a show or help the local softball team, but they don't run megga ads.  They do have green evergy ads. Exxon is doing somthing now. 

 

Some groups like the API have spoken for the industry and if you saw the link on youtube I posted, that was sent to DC. You can see the whole thing at energytommarrow.org.

8 years ago, the industry operated and few even knew.  That was better for the inudstry, not so good for land owners to got 5 bucks per. 

Stations will do what they are paid to do, but ppl in media are not friends of the business and in the business you can be fired for hang'n with them.  Besides why would SHELL, an international comapany care about another anti-oil movie?  Have you seen how many of them their are on netflix?

 

 

YES they are doing it right.  They didn't to be the top companies in the world by worry'n

can a drilling company mess up... sure, but WSJ, like most papers isn't even reading the articals they post.  Google a topic, find an AP story and then look at how many times it's posted.  These papers just want to fill paper and sell ads.  Few papers care AT ALL what they write and turn to ppl who are normaly left wing.  If anyone thinks that an editer is sitting at a desk reading all those stories and more... they don't understand the paper business.

 

back to gas.  Can a company mess up, sure.  Guess what, JOSH FOX is Full of crap.  He lied about who he was and the rest of the story is Moot as a result. 

I'll ask range next time I see there men and ask them in person.

Just going to add my 2 cents in here.I heard our soon to be ex-governor commented on ways to raise revenue for the state and he happened to mention the marcellus shale drilling industry...amazing, we find another way to find another energy source here and we will tax it more so it's no longer lucrative to keep doing so....glad this forum is here...Ignorance is not bliss.

well we can't tax it to death.  But the tax will just compramise the state's ablity to control the industry.  The industry is doing it's best to pay it's own way but it's hard to see if you don't work in the business.
