It is my understanding that Chesapeake is not paying royalty payments this month for most of Bradford and Sullivan Counties. No statements, company line, costs were greater than production, landowner owes us money.

The wording in a SURE lease that says a producer can fail to follow the lease and it will remain in effect.
Chesapeake is the industry leader . . . . . . . . . in corruption!
Frank,
Well said.
My wells are in Wyoming County PA . And we did not receive any payment for May as Well. I was told the same that the cost was more than the return on production. We also didn't receive payment from the other
three companies. My argument to them was the production reported to the Dept of Oil and Gas was more
than the previous months ? I explained to Chesapeake that I had the right to see documentation on the production cost. Still no paperwork.
Hi, Darlene, same thing in Sullivan County, got payments from the other three companies but owe CHK $19.67. Did you know John passed away? Was a year this Monday. Are you still at Stell's?
I sent an e-mail to Yaw. Called AG Kane, spoke to two people who were going to transfer me to the right person, went into voicemail. Left a message about no payment, negative balance, and no paperwork for May. People, no one cares. Look at Texas, after years of the same abusive treatment Chesapeake settled for $4,000. a landowner. Peanuts compared to what they were probably owed. Maybe in ten years Pa landowners will get the same.
BTW, I have called AG Kane a few times already over the last several months being put into voicemail, and up until today have gotten no response. So GOOD LUCK to landowners!!!
I have not read any articles on the 13,000 claims for 4k each on weather it is fair on not. Texas wells are smaller and I had heard a year ago that the estimate for Bradford County was 200k underpayments alone. The main point is that CHK is loosing more and more cases. That the good news. The Texas care took four years and the terms are not complete yet.
T,
Here is the article on the Texas Barnett Shale Landowner sell out to Chesapeake. It was on this website a few weeks ago.

As I said elsewhere, to get 90% of your plaintiffs to agree on a settlement can be done by one lawyer today, since retainers used in these court cases state that the lawyer can sign an out of Court Settlement for the Plaintiffs. I read it, and didn't sign it.
Politicians are being given big campaign donations to keep them off CHK back. Its cheaper than paying for the using they are stealing from us.
Yes, I called CHK to see why I did not get a payment and they told me I owe them $19.67 for an overpayment. Can you Imagine that? I said take it out of Aubrey McClendon's life insurance policy or send me a bill.
No longer with Stell . And yes I did hear about John I am very sorry for your lose. He was a wonderful man. I am sure you miss him deeply. Good luck on your wells.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
