Pity Americans living in the once-great Empire State. Inability of landowners there to frack their land is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to freedoms lost. Every day New Yorkers are throwing in the towel and moving across the border into northern Pennsylvania, where freedom still rings . . . at least by comparison. Of course, if Hillary is elected, much of the remainder of the USA will commence looking just as New York does today. We must not allow that to happen.

Frank,
I appreciate your inclusion of the terms "freedom" and "liberty" in your title.
These are the two of the main principles on which this country was founded.
The people of the colonies were tired of the heavy hand of an over reaching government and set out to shed themselves of that government.
Barak Obama and now Hillary Clinton have set out to extend the heavy hand of government over every aspect of our lives.
Of course this includes decisions about our property and decisions about our oil and gas rights.
We are the only country in the world that recognizes the rights of land owners and their ownership of the minerals on, in and under their land.
Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton reject those property rights. Rights guaranteed in our Constitution.
If you think you have trouble with oil and gas companies and your oil and gas rights, just wait until you see what Hillary Clinton has in store for you. She intends to nationalize all mineral rights. In other words, steal them from you.
Be careful how you vote this fall if you wish to retain your God given rights to your property.
i live in ny, just as anywhere in the usa "it ain't perfect"... save your pity... most the folks i know who have moved out of ny have gone straight through pa on their way to the carolina's, florida, arizona, new mexico, states basking in sunshine...
i'm not voting for either of the primary winners (i'd write in mickey mouse first) but i'm preparing for what looks to be a clinton presidency, agh... do i believe she'll nationalize mineral rights??? not without congress she won't... bordering on absurd in my opinion and quite obvious you'll say or do whatever it takes to motivate a trump presidency... it will be interesting to see your opinion after four years if he can overcome his own mouth and win... same thing goes for those pushing clinton...
over the years i've discovered commonsense and truth avoid the extremes and are positioned somewhere in the middle........................

Greetings Charles
Without question I favor the candidacy of Mr. Trump. Equally without question, your POTUS vote in New York is meaningless. Your state is completely under control of its downstate contingent, the vast majority being Hillary supporters . . . and anti-frackers. Feel free to align yourself with them. It makes no difference to me or to anyone else.
Of more current interest in New York is control of your New York State Senate. If it goes over to the Democrats, a distinct possibility, the last vestige of your freedom will have evaporated. Frankly I doubt you or anyone else in New York State will care or even notice. For far too many New Yorkers, loss of freedom and liberty has become an accepted way of life.
Finally, rest assured refugees from New York are seeking respite and relief here in Pennsylvania. On this I speak from the personal experience of watching as they move in, and from hearing the advertisements of local realtors aimed at New Yorkers. BTW, people who treasure freedom and liberty, and who are wise enough to vote accordingly, will always be welcome here. Such people "have a friend in Pennsylvania".
frank, the article is quite slanted to nyc, not ny state... again, plenty of opportunity for anyone interested in putting forth the effort, SAVE THE PITY... my county is 900 square miles with just over 50,000 people... certainly not the ny state your article describes...
went to salt city vw car show yesterday, 2.06 for a gallon of gas in syracuse...
align with the anti-frackers??? no, not me... drill responsibly, we need affordable energy...

I FIND IT IRONIC THAT BOTH CLINTON AND TRUMP RESIDE IN DOWNSTATE NY... PART OF THE SOLUTION, NO, THEY ARE THE PROBLEM... BOTH OF THEM..............................................
People forget that NYC is very different from the rest of the state. NYC-minded people just seem to throw their weight around and seem to get a bigger say in what happens statewide, hence the drilling moratorium set in action by the city people who own no mineral rights and don't think about where the oil, gas and energy that keeps their city running comes from. I understand what you're saying, Charles.
charles,
With all due respect, the middle is for cowards,
People who have made a difference in this country have always stood for something and did not compromise; Washington, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Coolidge, Kennedy, Reagan and now Trump.
With regard to domestic oil and gas development, there is no middle ground. Either you support it or you don't. Clinton does not, Trump does.
Barry, can you please provide a source on Hillary Clinton's plan to nationalize mineral rights?
It's a basic fact of life that amount of freedom and liberty a state has is pretty much indirectly proportional to its population density, the more people you have the more laws and regulations must be enacted to maintain order. An inescapable fact.
If you live in Montana on 10,000 acres, you can shoot your shotgun out your window and dump a barrel of oil on your land and no one cares. Do the same in NY city and 10000 people are negatively affected, hence more laws.
The least populated states are South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and Alaska, I would expect the greatest liberty and freedom in those states.
Barry, can you please provide a source on Hillary Clinton's plan to nationalize mineral rights? g,h, quote
not bloody likely gh..............................
a simple case of fear mongering...

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
