Do you want China to profit from your land?

Read your business paper/column, please.  Chesapeake come into an area, pays the highest amount heard of, runs all the other operators out, and then sells their interests to China and India to finance their next move. 

 

They have done it with their Barnett holdings, Haynesville holdings, Eagle Ford holdings, and will be doing it with their Utica holdings.

 

There are plenty of other companies to work with that work with institutinal monies and the monies remain stateside - the biggest bonus check is not always the best bonus check.

 

Don't take it wrong, I do not have anything against capitalism, just communists practising it in my country, on my land.

 

No Chesapeake for me, I don't care how much money comes to my hand. 

 

Chesapeake, Shell (East Resources), Chevron (Atlas), Exxon (PGE), all have said they are going to run the shale business.  They have stated they will make it to where there will  only be 6 operators in the Marcellus, do you think that will be good for the local economy?  I have found smaller operators that have access to institutional monies that do complete the drilling, and they have better relationships with the landowners. 

 

Think about it - I can't change your mind, I only want everyone to consider the ramifications of just accepting the biggest check they can get.

1000 bbls a day now! haha Someone should sit a lawn chair up down the road from the  location. When 5 Ergon Semi's show up everyday will I believe that. Are they flaring this gas? They have laid a gas line but they are not selling gas at this moment in time.

As this develops you will see there are going to be liquid area's, oil area's, and dry gas areas.

I couldn't understand Nates reply about not believing that the Buell well is producing Oil.  You can sit a lawn chair on top of one of the six giant white tanks and see for yourself.  CHK needs to step it up, Ohio offers aren't even close to Penns or WV and Ohio has more than just dry gas.  The time to gamble is over, once these other "test wells," prove themselves maybe then we will see some action.  $2000 and 15%  email me if you want to give away your mineral rights.

Josh I agree with you. They are not here for dry gas . Some folks just can't put the puzzle pieces together. I guess as long as CHK stalls on coming forth with the real info there will be those who don't believe it. That is precisely what they want, all of us in the dark. Why are they drilling another well at the sportsmans club right next door ? Is it because the have hit the mother load of dry gas ? They could do that in PA or WV. They are in ohio for oil. I dont believe it is just a little bit of oil they are after either. Harrison county is setting in a very good area of the Utica. CHK knows what they are doing they are here for a reason. The reason is not dry gas.

I'm sure there is oil there. I've talked to many different companies and that is the one constant. However, I just don't know how 1000 bbls of oil can leave these wells a day with out the traffic and people in my industry knowing about it. I've heard rumors from all levels of production. But the well is shut in for gas sales so how are they flowing the oil up the casing w/o selling the gas (they must be flaring it. Is there an Olympic torch at the location at night? Has anyone seen it?  Just trying to ask some questions to help substantiate the rumors.

Nate....someone on the site said that they ran a pipe line up to the well.....if true....then perhaps that is where the natural gas is going.

Could it be possible they ran a pipe for the Oil to tie into, obviously seperate from the gas.  I am hearing all kinds of stuff.  I wish Aubrey McClenndon would answer my phone call. lol

FYI all.....

 

If those tanks are 30ft by 15ft......then they each hold ~950 barrels

Assuming 42 gallons a barrel.

According to the dnr website where it shows the pipeline infrastructure for Ohio there is an oil pipeline running through Harrison county along with several gas lines.
