Wetland Plant IdentificationThe Common Trees of the Northeast and Mid Atlantic
November 28, 2012
2:00 PM EST - 4 PM EST
2 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) are offered for this webinar. A certificate of training will be made available for each registered attendee.
Do you need to learn you plants quickly? If so, join us for our newest webinar focusing on wetland trees. No need to travel. Weather is not an issue. Just sit back and spend an hour with us and learn your trees.
This session will focus on the most common trees found in wetland in the northeast and mid-Atlantic region. It covers portions of the Eastern Mountains and Piedmont, Northcentral and Northeast, and the Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plain Regional Supplements to the US Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual.
This session will cover basic tree identification and will include many of those fun mnemonic tricks to remember your trees like MAD Cap Horse. If you have had one of our wetland plant field class, this is a great review. If you are brand new to tree identification, this is a great way to get up to speed on the most common trees species found in the region.
This is our first in a series of wetland plant webinars. We will be offering shrubs, herbs, grasses, rushes and sedges, and woody vines in upcoming webinars this winter. So grab a cup of hot chocolate and stay warm while you learn your wetland plants.
The webinar is live and interactive. You will be able to ask questions during the webinar and after. We will post resource materials and Q&A in our Swamp School webinar center. You will have access to this before and after the class. We will also post the rebroadcast in the webinar center for viewing at a later date. We are also trying a new non-Power Point format that is just plain fun. Slides are too linear anyway.
So get ready for a truly unique webinar on tree identification.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
