As this current over supply situation works itself out the next shale boom will potentially be even bigger than the first boom.  Companies that survive will be leaner, meaner and financially in a better position as cost cuts and new amazing technology will increase production beyond prior expectations.

The best position to be in is to be the owner of the mineral rights who partner with the companies that survive this battle.  Those that have a long term view will put their families in a more secure situation-the gas and oil is not going to evaporate and eventually as efficiency and technology increases the patient will be rewarded. No pun intended.....
