Are these well units set up according to a regulated plan to allow for maximum usage of Ohio's potential? Or are they allowed to be developed according to each companies' individual plan? It seems that the latter could leave a lot of smaller "well locked" and useless property. Also, will the 640 acre well units be square,   rectangular, or some other shape?

Drilling units don't have to be 640 acres, and they don't have to be any particular shape, although they seem typically to be rectangular in the Utica.  A number of CHK wells in my area have 153 acre drilling units.  Remember that you only get paid royalties on the acres you own in the drilling unit.  Some of your acreage can be in, and some can be out.
