so they sold the land and kept rights............only to sell the rights a year later......interesting.

the owner sounds like my father-in-law..........smart investor, worth a bunch, but lives on the cheap.

Anyone know if this is one of those sales where they bid the individual parcels and then combine them all to see if it is a better price or one could combine the parcels in a county in this one or is it just 2000 acres all together one time?

knowing kiko, i would say they will go seperate first..........then maybe lump some, or all.

Word up!

Sources tell me that the Belmont mineral auction brought in over $8K an acre, Monroe, $5K an acre all the other counties brought an average of $750 per acre.

Ron, any word on the buyers for Belmont and Monroe parcels?    Several weeks ago an analyst stated that Belmont and Monroe had the most valuable acreage in the country.

All I know is that Kiko advertised this auction in the WallStreet journal and some Texans showed up.  I did ask who bid and legal counsel stated they did not know yet.

As with any auction of property, tremendouse homework is required before bidding.  Most of the acreage auctioned for $750/ac.  this tells me that the homework proved very speculative for now.

Why wouldn't the gas companies around there that pay 5k+ an acre to lease be there?  Especially at that price.
