hope this helps you just in case you didn't know that there is a special forum per county....I know that you have to join to enter the discussions ...but there are several items on the main page and fairly current.

As of 28-Jan-2011 there is only one rig drilling in Butler County, PA.

UNION DRILLING, INC. RIG# 54,  TALARICO UNIT, 9 H

However, there have been 17 wells permitted in Butler County so far in January 2011. 
Permits by Municipality Name:

Allegheny - 1

Buffalo - 2

Connoquenessing - 3

Forward - 9

Jefferson - 1

Summit -1

Looks like activity picking up for Butler Co.
