Hello guys and gals, The Renick Well pad off rt.308 appears to have added 8 more wells ( units 6H,7H,8H,9H,10H,11H,13H,15H). The permit dates were 9/26/2018 and they are all listed as active for Penn Energy Resources LLC . I was wondering if anyone has any additional info on the current and/or projected status of these newer wells.I know about the plats for each well, but don't understand what "active" means. Are they still being drilled? Already drilled? Starting to produce? Has anyone in these units had their water tested yet? Any additional info would be greatly appreciated. This site is in Center twp. Butler county, Butler Pa.. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Permalink Reply by Jon on April 4, 2019 at 6:17pm I believe that active means that they're options, but haven't necessarily been exercised. Companies renew permits constantly, because it's cheaper for them to do that than let them expire and have to start the process over again. There are still active shell/rex/penn permits out there. haha.

Permalink Reply by Bullfrex on April 5, 2019 at 2:45am If they are water testing, they have some plans to move forward, sooner rather than later.
Now, as we have seen, those plans can change in a heartbeat, but I hope that doesn't happen.
In an attempt to clarify....they are testing to a radius of 2500' of the well pad?
In our case, the distance was 3000' from the pad....but rules might have changed.
Permalink Reply by Robert Allingham on April 5, 2019 at 4:24am Hi Bullfrex, Rex used to test around 4,000feet but Penn is only going out 2,500 ft..I was told that by the Co. doing the water check. I don't know what the actual regulation says but I guess each driller has their own rules as long as it meets the minimum set by DEP. Thanks for your input.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
