Energy Mom asks assemblywoman if not___, then what?

Last week I was in a small group that met with an assemblywoman whom I’ll refer to as Ms. B.  Ms. B represents the district that is the most vocal critic of shale development in New York.  Activists in this district are responsible for funding the shale protest and masterminding the 90 bans and moratoriums on shale gas development that have been passed here. As her website states, Ms. B was first elected in 2002 and is now starting her fifth term.
Ms. B began the meeting by telling my group that climate change is her number one issue.  She declared that her reading tells her that the United States must completely de-carbonize its economy by 2020.  If it doesn’t, it will be responsible for catastrophic collapse of the environment.  Ms. B, who holds an M.A. in English and taught high school English before she was elected to the legislature, knows this because she reads it.  Unfortunately, she just doesn’t read anything that doesn’t agree with this view.

Work extra had to find a better candidate. Then vote her out.  It' your only option.

Don't be intimidated by her fancy background or history in the legislature. If she believes in Climate Change, spaeks of De-Carbonization and it's role in collapsing the environment she can be defeated. Both are complete falsehoods.

It shouldn't be hard to defeat someone who is anti-jobs, anti-domestic energy and clearly totally myopic.

...unless she were to have the support and backing of a majority of the voters that reside in her district.  She's likely not the only anti-job, anti-domestic energy, myopic person out there and merely plays to the majority of the voters in her district.

I respectfully disagree about playing to the "majority of voters."  Personally, I believe they play to where their campaign funding comes from - then they sway the voters by scaring them with falsehoods and out-shouting any and all opponents.

Leasing, infrastructure and investment are in Ohio and Pennsylvania...so they are positioned to sell New York natural gas (aka...NY is too late getting in).  Unfortunately, it's probably going to be decades until New York's natural gas reserves are needed.

I agree Fang--but NY might be waiting until 2080-2100 to see the benefit.  We'll be long gone.  More and more natural gas "finds" are being made nationwide.

There's still hope for NY because some companies have large acreages there they need to secure with drilling.  Also, there are some sweet spots along the Southern Tier.
