Thanks Ron. I want you people to get the right information. I live and work in
PA. I want this to work for PA and our country. There is so much history up
here. This is a great thing for the people of PA and the USA.
I believe the problem we have in Pa with our unemployed workforce is the fact that the majority of those that really do want to work have already moved to other areas in the country to get a real job. Those that are left are either the ones that feed at the gov't feed trough, or are young folks that don't know what real work is, or are furthering their education so that they don't have to physically work hard. Maybe I'm wrong, but this is what I see from my perspective as an employer.
I don't think unions have much to do with the situation, however don't get me started : )
I can tell everyone right now. If unions try to take over a drilling rig the Gas Co's will leave PA PERIOD
In our case we have never been and prefer not to be in unions. I worked at one time where they took mandatory dues from everyone. A good company my husband worked for years ago was chased out of the state because the unions tried to take it over.
I understand why the gas and oil companies would avoid mandatory union states.
What does geokinetics do with the data? Do they sell or are they working for a company? I saw many geo trucks in butler county.
Back to orginal ? They do ground seismic evaluating the formation under the ground. They do it with sound and sometings with explosions to attempt to figure out were the formations are in the earth.
they did this in northen tioga co. two years ago and most of the drilling now is within a mile or so of the test areas. they know it is there, now are fine tuning the 3d maps.
Tom and Homer
do they test everywhere - or just where they think is the best place? who gets the information? what do the pink flags represent? How big is a test area? sorry about all of the questions and thanks for answering - seems much more interesting to discuss than Mexicans
Yea kinda got off subject. Pink flags could be for several reasons. Most likely is test area or center point for trianglation. Test areas vary but are usually done in sections 640 acres.
Certain Operators lease certain tracts of land and they get the information.
Could be but it may still be several months until they assemble the data and
decide were to drill.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
