Mark, where did you obtain this info.     Is he going to address why they did not pay most of the leases they signed through their leasing agent adept or just talk about their current well in french creek?

That is great news. I hope he gets an earfull  from some of the landowners in Venango County who executed "leases" in Halcon's favor and then received word that Halcon was bailing out and was not going to fund the bonuses. I still hope Halcon hits a homerun in Venango County and that their wells all come in with great flow rates. If that happens I believe Halcon might be knocking on these disappointed landndowners' doors once again, and this time with checks in hand. I think I'll read a little Shakespeare befor retiring for the night. Perhaps the comedy "Alls Well That Ends Well" would be a good choice.

What is the event that night and is it open to the public?

The event is entitled "Shale Gas and the Economic Impact for Northwest Pennsylvania."  You can find all the details at http://nwpamarcellusshale.com/.  FYI -- event is free but you must register by Oct 29th.

I see nothing on above link about Halcon or Mr. Anderson speaking at 8:00 PM. I may have missed something on link as I am nearly illiterate on the computer.  HELP!!

I see the information in the middle of the webpage under "upcoming events".  It is the second event listed (the first being for businesses and held at the Elks Club, Franklin on 10/31).  Perhaps he is an add on to the posted agenda.  I would contact the groups sponsoring the event (Keystone Community Education Council or Oil Region Alliance) at the contact numbers listed on the website for clarification.  I am just a landowner trying to help keep us all informed, so I would appreciate hearing back from you what info you find out.

This website is listed on the header banner as for "Northwest Pennsylvania Oil & Gas Industry Hub".  It is for the NWPa Oil & Gas Industry Hub Taskforce.  The sponsors are listed as:  Keystone Community Education Council, Oil Region Alliance, Titusville Community Development Agencies, Venango Area Chamber of Commerce, Venango Technology Center, Clarion University Venango Campus, Clarion County Economic Development Corporation, Venango County Regional Planning Commision, and Penn-Northwest Development Corporation.

I don't see Mr. Anderson's name mentioned either Sam. Gary Schottle from Halcon will discuss shale geology. I doubt he will answer questions on any other subject.

I am sure Mark Thompson started this thread in good faith and with what he thought was accurate information. Perhaps he can clarify this a bit.

I sent an email to Bonnie Streyle who is coordinating the event, and she confirmed Robert Anderson is scheduled to speak. I see this morning they updated the website indicating that fact. I still doubt he will answer any questions other than on shale geology.

Here's another seminar you all might be interested in. A geologist will be talking about the Utica shale and its geology in Franklin on Monday.  Cost is $15. I don't know if they have any openings.
