I agree with you. As pro drilling as I am, I am more concerned about preserving the rights of property owners.

How did we deteriorate to this level? This is not a new subject on here. Ron my right to swing my fist ends at someone else's nose. And because my neighbor has 500 acres does not mean they have the right to force me to do anything. Again, when leasing began the talk was lease or we will drill around you. Suddenly they can't? Drilling is done through thousands of feet of ocean water than through thousands of feet of sea floor, with GPS accuracy. Are you telling me they can't bypass someone's 4 acres? I appreciate the desire to have less environmental impact, and I also understand the economical advantage a larger unit has for a company. However if costs hilcorp extra millions to drill around someone that's their problem. If they have to set up rigs every 500 feet that will become the problem of the holdout who wouldn't sign. I however do not believe that someone who does not sign prevents units from forming. You can look online and find units that have holes and uneven borders.

In regards to the issue here. Forced pooling wins because one cannot obstruct the development of energy that is vital in our society which all consume. Sort of like eminent domain for the common good. However I hear your argument about unit sizes. Bottom line we all suck it up so no one can prevent the development of energy.

So does that entitle me to the water, crops, and livestock on your land? Those are more vital than gas and oil.

Actually funny you brought water up, yes I am in court for riparian setbacks for land behind the poland library. One must surrender 120' from the center of the creek. Perfect example you brought up.

Just curious where in Mercer County Hilcorp is considering drilling.....any thoughts from anyone??
