I've always thought that these municipal moratoriums on Marcellus drilling were not only short-sighted but also exposed the cities involved to costly and unneccesary lawsuits, as Morgantown is now learning!
Doubt that Lewisburg will rescind their ban, but they certainly could take a page from Monroe County's book. Monroe County officials seem to have negiotated up front with the company interested in drilling in that county and have come to an understanding rather than a stand-off.
Of course, the individuals involved in protests and argumentation don't get the media attention when an amiable understanding is reached before a fight begins.
