The President and his cronies in Congress (Your Senators and Congress People) continue to harp on the subject of needing more investment in infrastructure.
As the incident in Flint, MI and Sebring, OH indicate, there is a significant need to invest in the replacement of water lines across this country (some over a century old). It is these aging water lines that are the primary cause for lead and other contaminants in our water.
Second, as the situation in California has shown, there is a need for investment in our aging natural gas distribution infrastructure.
Instead of self driving cars, high speed trains, failed solar and wind development, I suggest that the infrastructure improvement monies proposed by the President and his minions, be spent on repairing and replacing our aging water systems and natural gas distribution systems.
Again, forget wind, solar and storage batteries; they are failed alternatives not worthy of our tax dollars. As a caveat I will say that when private investment proves that these alternatives are viable then, and maybe, government officials should spend our tax dollars on them through subsidies.
