I have been approached to lease a parcel of land for use as a pipe yard when a major pipeline that crosses my land is replaced. Is there anyone with any experience with this? I told the land agent to give me a proposal in writing and am waiting for that.

I wonder what the guy in Hillsville, PA gets for "Texan Campground Site"

I'm not aware of this guy.
My neighbor is asking $1500/acre/month. They offered to "do me a favor" and lease it to me for $750/acre/month....if I didn't want a laydown yard 100 feet from my back door.

Back in 2008 when Rockies Express was built there were articles in the local newspapers of land leased for pipe storage. I am not certain, but it was a one year lease for 1,000. per acre, min 10 acres. Shelley & Sands on Rt 60 Zanesville, Ohio was one of them you might try to contact. Don't know the one near Byesville, Ohio on Rt. 40.  I think it was a larger tract.

REX used Timco Oil Field Services yard, SR 313, Tim Brown & Mark Brown.

Thanks for all of the helpful info. Any idea what the requirements were for reclamation? They are only replacing a mile or so. I have no idea how much pipe that is but we are concerned about soil compaction.

In general the lease will state that the land will be restored to it's original condition or better.

It would be a good idea to seek legal counsel before signing any long term or short term agreement. I am sure there will be a confidential clause in the agreement so you basically will have a gag order not to discuss amount of compensation. Is this an interstate or inner-state pipeline?

They will be mandated to construct pipeline projects under terms and conditions set forth by state and federal guidelines. EIS (environment impact statement), state mitigation plan (agriculture),

CFR,  federal (safety policy), and PHMSA. pipeline hazardous materials safety administration.

What you must do is add an addendum stating what you want in the contract and any conflicts,

your addendum exhibit supersedes.

Thanks so much for the help. It is a large interstate line owned by Kinder Morgan.
