Ok, Let's hear about the royalty amounts in Ohio's utica shale.ODNR reports 69 wells in production,so people are getting royalty checks. The rest of us would like to know what to expect. Please state your county,& how much per month you receive per acre. Also what % on royalties . How big is the drilling unit, and how many wells on the pad. It's really nobody's business, but if you would,we would really be gratefull. thanks

Good luck , Bo.
As long has the Marcellus been in production in PA , folks are still tight lipped. On another blog here someone claims 4k/mo. on 5 acres of a 173 acre unit with 3 wells in the Marcellus (DRY GAS)..... I have seen others state as little as $30.00/acre/mo. Pretty wide disparity, huh.
When I am fortunate enough to be included in the "royalty receivers" group I promise to post the results (albeit under a fictitious name :-).......)!

I'm hoping some "fictitious' folks from harrison,or belmont counties ,ohio check in with their royalty #s. That's where it looks like the $4,000. per month, per acre, per well,@20%, may happen! lot of gas, but 60 to 80 % liguids!
A guy called in the local talk show here in Portage County and said he was receiving "only" $21,000 a month on 70 acres while the neighbors were receiving much more. He wasnt really complaining even though the radio host made it out that way. He was just wondering why his well was not producing and oil while the neighboring farms were all producing oil and their checks were larger than his per acre. He called from Caroll County but didnt say what township he was in. Horizontal well and has been in production since September he said. The Cheseapeake guy told us to expect $200.00 per acre here in southern Portage county 2 years ago. I think we will be lucky to even see a well in the area......

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
