09/24/2014 - Magnum Hunter announced today that the initial production from the Stewart-Winland 1300U Utica well at 46.5 million cubic feet of dry natural gas per day. Folks, that is a monster of a gas well. At today's gas price ($3.911/thousand cubic feet) that would be at least $181,861.50 for one days production.

Thecl big question....how long will the pressure and flow hold up. My property is appx. 5 miles directly east. With the recent announcement of gastar in wv makes this exciting. That lateral of both wells are relatively short.

Can anyone say sweet spot? Is that out of line?

It means there is a hell of a lot of natural gas in the Utica shale in Tyler County.

MHR up 7% in after-hours trading.  This isn't just a monster Utica well, it's one of the best shale gas wells drilled in the country.  Great news for the people of Tyler county.

Yes, this is a monster!!  And I too am noticing how short the lateral is.    And hey, this is the old Sistersville oil field--looks like it is going to show very strong once again!!  I am very pleased for the folks of Tyler County.    And IMHO  Magnum Hunter will be anxious to spud that well on the Washington/Monroe County line to see if the flow holds up on the other side of the Ohio River that borders Tyler County.

Their Stadler well is right across the river from the tyler line and it appears to be holding up. It had ip of 32 with a 5050 lateral. Gastar alittle north in Marshall had ip of 29 and a 4777 lateral, very short. Marshall Wetzel and tyler are looking good. I just hope it stay goodles as they move east.

Stewart-Winland Unit Map 475 acres. I think the same unit will apply to the Utica well.

What about directly south in Pleasants. Anyone heard anything about that county?

Jim. We are in similar situations. Your south I am a little east. It is great news but we are still waiting as they are still exploring. Every well the opens up starts defining the area. But I'm am very happy. As they move closer to us it has gotten bigger. Can't complain.

I will say that we are deeper so the pressure is greater. I hope these wells can hold up in the long haul. So far they are define try economical and that will keep em drilling.

Jason

Didn't understand the comment about "we are deeper". Are you saying Tyler is deeper than Pleasants with more pressure or ??

Both tyler and pleasant are a deeper well with a lot of pressure. West into monroe and belmont the layer is closer to the surface so their pressure comes fron the gas. We have the gas but is the pressure could be disguising a decent well with a monster.
Definitely economical stupid auto crap
