McClendon Buys 75,000 acres in Monroe Co, Ohio; Tyler & Wetzel Cos WV Plus 3 other WV counties

Here is link to one article that gives the basic facts,  There are a number of articles on the internet in the last few hours.    Seller is East Resources and a private company. Anyone know the location of the acreage in Monroe County?    Anyone have a lease with East or lease sold to them in any of the six counties?

Don't have info but love the price per acreage average paid $23,333.

How are you getting your numbers? I am coming up with something different and I am probably wrong. Also, does the price AE paid per acre really effect the offers given to the individual leasor by other companies for unleased lands? Could someone explain that. I understand that if a company offers larger offers directly to the leasor then other companies may have to up their offers, but I don't understand in the case of one o and g company buying the leases from another company, how this would effect offers to us since the one company is also buying existing well and production.

East Resources???

RDS (Royal Dutch Shell) Bought East back in 2011. SWEPI is new subsidiary of RDS. 

I sure hope this is true. Makes that SW Pa corner worth bigger bucks.

Its listed as East Resources, but it is HG.  This includes all of the Whitacre acreage

Wonder if they'll buy just our utica for 15k. Now I see why those offers are now coming twice a week.

Here is HG Energy website describing that they purchased WV assets of East Resources Inc  in 2011.  All of HGs management were former East Resources employees.

IMHO opinion the reason for seeing East Resources Inc listed as a seller is that they retained some ownership or override in HG.

That's correct.  Great group of management that knows how to build a company and sell...word is East is leasing in Potter Co. PA.
