My family has mineral interests in the Big 192 and Big 333 well pads near Smithfield. The pads are less than 2 miles form the Mobley processing plant. Our royalty statement lists "Gas", and on a very rare occasion "Oil". There is never a listing for natural gas liquids. We were paid $1.62 for "Gas" on our last statement...no oil.

My questions are:

1. Generally speaking, are there natural gas liquids in Wetzel County?

2. How do I find out if we are or are not getting paid for natural gas liquids?

Thank you.

I'll assume Marcellus wells. As those wells go Eastern and/or Southern they get dryer . My guess is your gas is pretty dry. Does your statement show gas Btu content? If it's above ~1050 they are just selling ethane as natural gas. That's pretty common because of low ethane prices.

Thanks for the response Tim.

22 wells are Marcellus and 2 are Genesee. The royalty statement does not list BTU content.

I am involved in over 40 marcellus  wells in wetzel, yes NGLs are produced. As Tim stated the NGL will be stripped out which you can see if it is by looking at the BTU, generally stripping occurs at the processing plant. Wetzel had very limited capacity to do this until Blue Racer pipeline is done which adds a dedicated 24" line to NGL. Should see a .30-.40/mcf uplift from that.

Thank you Philip. This is the kind of information that I really need.

Our royalty statements just list "Gas"...nothing is written about BTU content or any natural gas liquids.

Tim, do you get paid according to the BTU content of your gas?  Or, do you get paid separately for specific NGLs?

NGL's and Condensates are separate. I'm in wet gas area ( just east of WV near I70 ) with RRC. All NGL's lumped together in Bbl's.
After Mariner west and Cryo-processes started in Houston PA and Majorsville WV Btu of gas dropped to 1060. NGL volume went way up but actual check was only a little larger. Mariner west (ethane) is based off of natural gas price index. Now Mariner East might get more bang for the Ethane and propane.
Gas is listed in both Mcf and MMBtu prices.
I should have said:
Gas, NGL's and Condensates are listed separately.

I wish they had a separate listing of those NGL's. Even better an API gravity of that condensate. But than we'd know too much.
Marcellus and devotion are wet in wetzel. West side has more oil the east side gets dryer. Check out anteros investor presentation. It shows the but throughout wetzel.

Thanks so much for the information Jason.  I will check Antero's report.
