This time of year, the only thing legal to hunt are vermin.

Elnathan, very interesting comment from someone who stands to benefit greatly from all of this.

Permalink Reply by Jack Straw on August 21, 2012 at 5:48pm Typecasting, the process by which an actor is strongly identified with a specific character, role, or trait.
If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, swims like a duck, looks like a duck, it must be a duck – unless you wish to be politically correct, then it is some kind of unidentifiable creature; otherwise, you would be guilty of “avian profiling”.

Permalink Reply by Brian V. on August 20, 2012 at 2:41pm This whole process has been a riot here in NY. Just this evening as I was getting out of my car after getting home from work I was greeted with the third anti-drilling petition of the year. The girl told me that she was seeking signatures on behalf of New York Citizens for the Environment. I told her that I just got home from my oil and gas job down in PA (I'm doing curative work right in the heart of the drilling in Susquehanna Co. PA and I meet with folks in the middle of drilling country daily)( a two hour drive round trip for me almost daily) that pays me very well and has been keeping me and my family living here in the State of NY. I asked her why she thinks I have to drive an hour away to find work that pays me this well. Nothing. I invited her to ride with me for a week and see first hand what it is she is fighting against. She of course told me she already knows all she needs to know about "fracking" and that she was quite happy to stay here in NY and fight the fight. I told her to have a good evening, working folk like myself don't have time for her type of non-sense.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
