And the Ohio Oil and Gas Association wants to see it passed quickly in the Senate.
IMHO we living in the real shale counties are not going to get enough of the funds for the wear and tear on our infrastructure.
And here is an article with more details. LOL a trillion times it was published by a newspaper in Indiana.
Ohio news media what does that say regarding your coverage of the House vote on this bill?

Check page four of the Journal of the House of representatives to see the committee vote taken yesterday to see reps who voted for and against getting it out of committee and to a vote today. Twenty one members on committee: eleven voted to put it to a vote and ten voted against.
Actual vote on the bill in the House will probably be posted in the Journal of the House tomorrow.

Sounds like socialism to me. Redistribution of wealth. I'll bet the republican governer will sign it and turn Ohio into a socialist state! What a bum, scumbag, piece of manure.
The truth is that the Republican stronghold is in the southwest part of the state so it is very easy for them to take wealth from eastern Ohio for a tax break that mostly benefits the wealthy.
Pure socialism!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Could someone please explain to me how this bill , if passed, will affect us landowners that have interest in a deep well under our land.
I presently have a shallow Clinton well on the farm and if memory serves, there already is a severance tax on it (I don't know how much present severance taxes are????) . I believe I get some sort of depreciation deduction for the well/minerals on my tax statement.
Here is the May 14th Journal of the Ohio House of Representatives. Check pages 19 and 20 for a complete list of those voting for the House bill and those voting against. The vote was 55 for and 38 against.

This article states that the President of the Ohio Senate says the Senate needs to look at this closely and therefore action/vote may not happen until after summer recess or the November election.
IMHO that gives people in the shale counties plenty of time to express their opinions.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
