I'm a landowner in the Potts Farm Subdivision off Batesville Rd. in Quaker City.  Does anyone have any information or updates on potential drilling in that area?  We signed our lease 2 years ago in August.  Just wondering where things stand now, if any drilling is planned in that area, or is it a low activity area? , etc...

I wish I had info. I've been waiting for almost six years in wetzel and Tyler county to drill and nothing yet. Have a seat. It could be awhile. Good luck and I hope all your wells are monsters

Go to the ODNR web site and they list all the permits  for drilling in Ohio

OSUNerd,

Is that on State Route 513 North or South of Quaker City?

It's north of Quaker City, about a mile or less from the highway on 513.

I am south of quaker city on Batesville road and I certainly haven't heard of anything, and I look on the ODNR atleast once a week, has anyone heard anything for south of Quaker City.  almost to Batesville.

OSUNerd,

I wish things were moving along faster as well.  But it seems like there has been a flurry of activity lately in our area.  I was down at my property this past weekend just east of Quaker City and I spent a little time driving around.  I think I came across 7 different drilling rigs within a 10 mile radius of Quaker City.  This is a guess on my part, but I would think with this number of rigs in the Millwood township and surrounding area that we have to be on par with the most active areas in Ohio right now.

Thanks for the info...and I sure hope so. :-) My brother lives in the Cadiz area and they are undergoing major infrastructure changes due to the  rigs, pipework, revamping bridges to hold up under the weight of the trucks, etc.  A few people in his area are starting to see royalty checks roll in.  We have received a couple of letters from speculators offering to buy our mineral rights but we pitched them  with the trash.  My brother mentioned they had heard there wouldn't be much drilling down in the Quaker City area and suggested I not throw away the offers too soon, but idk. I'm not in any hurry to sign away my mineral rights for all eternity, ha!.

Wells in place & many more planned all around Quaker/Salesville area. Probably one of the hottest areas in the state. Take a drive up on Putney Ridge. There is a well planned but not permitted yet at bottom of Yoker Valley Rd. at 265 on Collins farm just outside of Quaker.

Thanks so much for the information. That's good news...hopefully my property will be included in that pool.  I think it may be time for a nice Sunday drive through the area. ;-)

I think the Collins well is actually going to go in on the north side of Rt. 265 right outside of Salesville.  Where they had wanted to put it on the Collins farm is in the flood plain so they had to move it.  It's still being called the Collins unit.  You can see the plat on ODNR's site under Unitization.

We are a bit north of there.  About a mile off I-70 just down Rt. 513.  Pretty hilly area broken into lots of camps and home lots. Not a big piece of land for us, but the lease paid for our property 2x over.  Unexpected surprise, and better return than an IRA or 401(k) imho.

Noble County is one of three counties that just surpassed the 100 permit mark this month. Noble has 108 Utica permits, 59 wells developed 34 producing Utica wells in the county. The majority of the permits held in this county are by CONSOL and Antero Resources. By having high producing wells in both the wet and dry gas region of the Utica, this county will remain a strong focus for operators in the region.

This is a little iformation I found on the main page! from an article.
