I agree with you.. I don't need the money, so if you want the gas , pay me what it's worth.. I see no differance between a lease in Louisiana paying 28k and 28% royalties (my uncle) for the same gas we get here.. and we have more of it..
Louisiana and Texas will dry up in 10-20 years , NY/PA will be here for overe 100 and still producing.. Geology does not lie.. unlike many people
The fact is that anyone with enough pocket change can go out and buy a computer, join a discussion group for free and can say whatever they feel is the truth.
Sounds like Jones has the self-righteous blues.
I'm getting calls from gas drill companies and the offers are going up.

Humm. They must wanna invest is poor quality land to geet a tax break or sumtin. But what would us poor dum NEPA folk know. We should be happy with $50 and 10%. Whoda thunk us po folk wood git such a good ofer fo our minrals. Wez soo silleeee to wana geets a coupl-a bucks outa the millions them thair gas guys will make. i sorry Jonesy Thank you for helpin us mak a good decission.
Hi Roy, I have 130 acres in Tioga county Ny . It is close to Owego. Iam looking to lease it. What offers should I consider.
You can do all the math you wish the most important math is this take all of the leased acreage in Pa. Divid that total by the total sum of money invested (by Mutsui Statoil, Shell etc........) which has been will over 10 billion in last 2 years they are basically releasing the leases for $10,000+ per acre. So I ask you why shouldn't people ask for more money.
actually, the total investment in the last 12 months in PA alone is over 123 Billion with all the partnerships and investors. keep in mind Exxon alone is 41 Billion...
123 Billion can you please tell me where I can find these amounts please
review all the deals since Nove 2008 and they come up to about 123 Billion invested.. traded or sold.. as I said Exxon alone is 41 Billion.. so your Number of 10 Billion is more than questionable ;-)
these number were posted by the Wwall Street journal some 3-4 month ago
Hello Roy,

Citrus Energy is permitted for 5 wells in the middle of Wyoming County, Chief for 1 in the northern part and Chesapeake for one in the southern portion.

We have have written offers on the table higher than Mike's.

Your ignorance of leasing activities leads me to believe you are equally ignorant about the geology. You might try some basic internet research before spouting.

By the way, I you feel insulted by my choice of the word ignorant, here is the definition from dictionary.com.

Ignorance –noun
the state or fact of being ignorant; lack of knowledge, learning, information, etc.

Seems applicable.
Just for informational purposes, there are 5 well permits completed for the P&G plant and 1 well pad beginning in Northumberrland Twshp of Wyoming county and all these leases were well above $2000. Also, go to the court house and look up the recorded lease between a local lawyer and Robert Hughes....$3000.00...do your homework. Oh yes, I forgot Deer park land plus acreage around it leased at $2750....in Wyoming county...
You have to be kidding - In September, Chesapeake offered $5750 per acre bonus and 20% royalty to Wyoming County Landowner groups. See the following site http://thetimes-tribune.com/news/natural-gas-drilling-companies-eye-more-land-in-wyoming-county-1.876808 for more information regarding leasing in Wyoming. This article was dated July 4, 2010. What is disgusting is people making up lies to try to get what other people own.
what they offer and what they are selling for is 2 differant things, Chesapeake has not sold one (1) acre for less than 14k.. so you do the math
Thought I would get a reaction!!! We are on a website. GoMarcellusShale.com One would think that your interest in getting a well drilled on your property. I also am a mineral owner in Westmoreland, Washington and Fayette Counties so a can't go away even to Pampa(s), Texas.
