Rip,

Red Adair is a legend in the oil & gas business. Didn't know he'd expanded into forest fires, but it does make sense. Modern technology has minimized O&G well fires, and the Kuwait fires are ancient history. A guy's got to make a living!

Ripley's-

Red Adair died nearly 10years ago, and his oil well firefighting company was sold off about two years ago:

This firm handled some of the legendary oil/gas well fires during their time; and I'd be amazed if they ever fought forest fires anywhere.

Most Marcellus wells are in normal to sub pressured zones, and as Bluflame stated, modern techniques and oversight should prevent any huge well control events from occurring in the basin

Yes he died and the legend lives on and once he was driving thru Yellowstone national park and there was a pine tree on fire and put it out with a bucket of water, so I dare say that that was considered a forest fire and you are wrong about him ever fighting a forest fire!! So does that mean his company wont be putting fire fighters in eastern Ohio so I guess I better not send out my resume! just sayin
