OK. I think I understand what getting paid for net acres means. However, the guy who sold that 21,000 acres east of wetzel got 1000 per acre REGARDLESS of what interest he had in any one acre. Has anyone heard of people getting lease bonus's like this or is it always the net acre figures..as an example

1. 100 acres plus 50% interest in minerals equals 50 net acres. Bonus of 1000 per acre would give the mineral owner $500.....? Is that how it goes and is it ALWAYS like that or are some people leasing and getting what the guy with the 21,000 did?

50% interest of 100 acres = 50 acres

Your bonus for your net 50 acre interest at $1,000 per acre would be $50,000..... not $500

Sorry. I meant $50,000. It was late at night when I wrote that....:))

Thanks

Note to self rookie- Don't sign your lease late at night (:
