Billy Park Whyde said… Here is one Jim. I am learning and am not jumping off a cliff in this. But I have a neighbor I might be able to help. She is not in good health has 80 acres near me. She has a sale sign up on a piece of property across from here home. I called her today and she has no idea as to what the value could be to her. O told her to call me back when she feels a bit better and I would fill her in .
With the possibilities In think she could get a up front lease that might be able to get her into a better financial picture, she might be able to move if she would like to into a assisted living center with no worries about bills, she could still leave the farm to any relatives she might have which I do not know if she does or not but I would hate to see her sell the property at a low market price not knowing she could still keep it.

Michael Kromer said… Hi James....... my remark was really geared toward people who were using names on this website other than their own. Its nice to see people who aren't afraid to hide their identity. I have a small place on Rt.6 in Ashtabula. I'm really not looking for anything, but just taking in conversation on this website waiting to see what happens with this shale stuff. I was approached by NELA and signed a lease with them back in Dec. They told me somewhere between 10-18 months thats when they are putting out the 20,000 acres or so out for bid.

Craig Stull said… Hi James,
I called alov last week and nothing is new. Bob Rea is going to start a new group called Buckeye mineral. I hope we hear something soon. I still believe Chesapeake will end up with alov leases in Trumbull county. I did hear there is a new group forming up north called northcoast enviromental landowners group. They do have a web site and are having meetings every week at different locations. If I hear any news on alov I will surely let you know.
