Let`s keep our conversations going...what are you hearing about the future for new natural gas development in Pennsylvania, Ohio & West Virginia?  Are you hearing of plans for new well pads or adding of new wells to existing pads?  How about new pipelines; are they coming & where?  Any new acquisitions of gas companies or mergers?  Are you being contacted by gas company representatives for new leases & where?

I also live in NC but have been able to learn a lot from the internet, as well as having been able to visit the county where my ancestors lived and where the minerals are, which I inherited.

Here is the link to the West Virginia Office of Oil and Gas website. If you go there, look at the menu on the left hand side. The top is "General Information". Go there. The bottom link for that section is "Weekly Reports". The most recent is 6-15-20 thru 6-19-20. There were no permits for Tyler county in that one. If there were, you could look up what was reported in the ApplicationXtender. That is somewhat complicated but there are instructions for it.

If you go back to the main page, and look near the bottom, you see Horizontal Drilling. If you go there, and look at the list, you see "Signup for OOG Mailing List..." Here you can get on the email list to see what permits are being applied for, or have been approved, for the county or counties that you select. These emails include the district, I think, as well as a location and other things. The location would be a latitude and longitude set of numbers. The link above the Signup is "Coordinate Conversion..." where you can see the location on a map.

There is a lot more information out there. I have learned from this and other online sites and am happy to share what I can.

This question is for Tioga County, PA.  There have been notices posted by SWEPI of three new well permits in the county - one in Deerfield Township, one in Nelson Township, and one in Sullivan Township. does anyone know anything about these new wells/

Hi, Brian, thanks for the info! I have not heard anything, and I'm mostly interested in Delmar and Charleston. My parents live in Delmar and there was a notice in the paper about water use for their particular well.

How will the Atlantic Coast Pipeline decision affect future drilling in Appalachia?

ETRN stock jumped over 11% because their Mountain Valley pipeline will now get the volume and their 2nd phase will reach customers into North Carolina.

Will lessor pipeline take-away capacity bottleneck gas in the Appalachian Basin?   Will E&P companies need to alter their plans now for drilling, and if so, how?  Will some drilling locations be more attractive then others now?

Any thoughts about how the new need for plexiglass shields to protect workers against COVID 19 increase need for the natural gas liquid products? I probably don't have all the terminology correct here.

Do you mean plastic face shields?   I suspect the greater need is from the medical industry although many workers in the gas industry need them too.    Will plexiglass be needed for workplace shields in the gas industry?

Many businesses are adding plexiglass and other types of clear plastic shields to protect workers from customers. I heard a news article recently that a company that manufactures this type of thing is swamped with orders, and has orders that won't be filled until at least 2021. My car repair place installed this shield months ago, when the virus hit our area. You can slip paperwork etc under the shield and see each other but no direct air flow through the shield. The news piece was focused on the manufacturing process but the raw materials could also be in short supply if demand is high enough. Just wondering.

And, as you said, the plastic face shields are also being used more and more.

Until the cracker plants are up and running it probably benefits OPEC for now.  Most of the components for plastics are now refined out of oil even though NG is cleaner.  A lot of US plastic plants left shore decades ago to follow the cheapest source of raw material.

How will construction of the Leidy South Expansion Project in Central PA impact future development of gas fields in Western, Central & Eastern PA?  Looks like completion of this project is planned for early 2022.

There has been fracking on existing well pads near me,then today,we received a letter that states-due to the covid virus and low prices,they were temporarily stopping production,and we may not get any royalties for a time...this ain't a rumor,it's an ugly fact.We recieved a letter last week from a company that wants to buy our rights for $4000/acre.They must have known this was going to happen and figured between this,and the economy,people would be jumping to sell.I hope things pick up sooner than later...Anybody have the same experience?I'm in Western Pa.
