Seismic testing in Columbiana County Ohio

A guy was going around last night to get people to sign to allow seismic testing. I live just South of Damascus, Ohio. I guess they are going to be doing the testing in February. Does anyone know how long it takes to get a well after this testing?

They are working on a well pad just west of North Georgetown on georgetown road. I haven't been by lately but they could actually be drilling by now. I heard that alot of equipment had been spotted going down Know school rd toward the well pad. I believe this will be the first well around here.

 

The guy getting the signatures for seismic said that they would probably drill within 2 years but he really was just guessing. They only have 4 years before my lease runs out.

See what you can glean from this Google Earth map.  It shows all the wells for several counties.  Wells after 6/10 are identified via red pins, larger pins identify likely Utica wells.  

There seems to be a limit of the number of concurrent data pins, if you open more then 3 counties at once some of the pins will disapear.

The file contains all the data points which Google Earth displays on the map. Double clicking the file should automatically launch Google Earth.
Are you using the current version of Google Earth viewer? If not you can download it from http://www.google.com/earth/index.html. You can double click the file here or download the file to you PC and double click the file to launch Google Earth.

  The pad for the Sanor Farm well site in North Georgetown looks 100% complete. The road is in, the gate is up and locked, the pad is level and area is completely fenced. But there is no drilling rig, no guard shack and no communications dish. I think we can safely assume the Drilling Rig has not been there, yet.

  The Ayrview Well Site in East Rochester is not 100% complete. It will be completed very soon. There is a Drilling Rig at the West well site, now. The Drilling Rig at the West well site is just two miles south of Ayrview. The Drilling Rig at the West well site has been performing the Horizontal Drilling for the past two weeks (+/-).

  It will be interesting to see if they haul the drilling rig from the West well site right past the Ayrview well site and all teh way up to the Sanor Farms well site.

  It is becoming very apparent that they can prep the well sites much faster then the drilling rigs can bore. Chesapeake needs more rigs!

I need to check the status of the Hoppel well site, as it was the first well to be permitted in Columbiana County.

This AM at the Sanor farm site there was a semi backed in the chain link fence area and looked to be delivering some large diameter steel pipe

I am in southern Lawrence County PA and the Patterson Well is maybe 3mi. NW of me. Have never been approached about seismic testing. I own 74.7 acres that is leased approx. a month now. Is this unusual or do they not always do this testing?
