Just wanted to share our family's experience with Statoil and our Federal Income Tax Withholding on our 1099s. The IRS told my sister they are inundated with calls about people having trouble getting a corrected 1099 from Statoil with their Withholding Taxes on it. If Statoil withheld federal income taxes and you are having trouble getting them to put it your 1099 I can tell you where the problem lies:

When you call them and say the word "Withholding" they automatically think post production cost and start a dialog about not being required to send anything but the gross amount to the IRS. It is what I call an "apples and oranges conversation". You are talking about Income Taxes and they are talking about post production costs. When you call them you must use these words: FEDERAL INCOME TAXES WITHHELD. When we did this, our corrected 1099s were emailed almost immediately.
