There is an article out today that mentions what I believe to be about buell well in harrison county.

"Take the example of what may be the most productive well in Ohio history. State Sen. Jimmy Stewart, R-Albany, said he heard a rural Harrison County well was pumping 15 million cubic feet of gas daily.

A spokeswoman for Chesapeake Energy, the Oklahoma-based owner, said the well in question is still being evaluated, and he couldn't confirm the numbers."

Thats good news, as I can see that well from my porch!!!!!  I wonder how that compares to PA's best well.  I am sure they wanted to keep that cat in the bag a little while longer.

That cat is out......leases will go up accordingly.......

I just Hope Gov. Kaisch  keeps cool and lets the indrustry prosper before taxing it to death.

Somehow I thought The Utica was oil?
EQT supposedly has one tested @ 22 million in Greene County PA.

I had read the EQT Greene County well was marcellus, no?

JB

MArcellus yes.
I believe there is OIL there as well, however I don't think they are going to advertise that info yet.  As for that well in Greene PA, I believe that it had multiple laterals , as the Buell only has one at the moment.
Nope single 9500' lateral.
How much is an acre of land being leased for in oil country ?  Didn't CHK say they were going to focus on drilling for oil since the price of gas has dropped ? Why would they sell 33% of the leaseholds they had in the Eagle Ford to come to Ohio ? Some of the wells down there are producing unbelievable amounts of oil per day. I believe they are here because the oil is here !!  It sounds like Ohio is oil country also !!

Paul,

Do you have any idea where the lease offers might go for pieces of ground near the Buell?  Just curious.

No I don't but if it test good I'm sure they will be very good.

At what distance do they considered the geology of a test well to extend.  Example-your land is 10 miles away from test well, would they consider you to have same results?? Or is it shorter  circumference from test well.
