I am not the land owner. I am the lease holder of 405.44 acres that are comprised of 6 contiguous land leases. I was offered 4% ORRI and I was told that there is a 'state mandate' that says differently and I can't find where to check this out. I will look at your link though and thank you for answering:)

Hi haven't kept up with all the drilling info to your extent. Looked up ORRI since I wasn't familiar with it. Thanks, you just helped me out. Was wondering about the shallow driller on our land and what would happen if he sold his drilling rights.

There's a brief idea from an energy company that's general. It doesn't say anything about PA but does tell you (if you are the land owner with ownership of the mineral rights) an idea of where you probably stand. http://www.madronaenergy.com/royalty-interest-faq.htm

Can anyone tell me if there is a "set" or "legal ORRI in Pa" that has to be reached? In other words, can a company offer whatever ORRI that they want or is there a state standard they have to follow?

Good luck Kelly & Joe -- I've always been the same. Sometimes I've been lucky, other times not.

Thank you, I will find a contact rep and number.....I am like a blood hound on a trail when it comes to finding and contacting companies.....not so lucky when it comes to being purchased. LOL WON'T GIVE UP THOUGH.

Don't really know. They were at my my neighbor saying they owned the deep mineral rights. (this property ajoins the lease I mentioned) He didn't sign since he felt the shallow driller owned them. My husband had been in touch with MDS and they said any drilling done by shallow well drillers exempted us. Don't know what EQT was trying to do since my neighbor and I have the same shallow driller. No one to date has been in touch with us.

I'm trying to do research since I've followed Marcellus since it's beginning -- long before all the activity around our western PA area. I'd appreciate drilling providing it's responsible -- having lived through the shallow drilling.

Do you know if they're still buying leases or the contact info?

EQT has an on-going well on Cherry Run Road -- it's isolated and you can't see it. They also have a DEP permit for a farm about 6 miles from us. Don't know if the permit is completed yet. Where we live we can hear continuos drilling sounds at a distance.

But I would like to be purchased before the end of the year....not looking very good at this point. Need to sell for divorce but not willing to GIVE AWAY as they want.
